First, take a 7' CAT6 cable. Cut off 6" from one end and strip 1" from both sides. Solder these 6 connections, such that data 2-4 on this CAT6 cable becomes data 1-3 after this connection point. | 6" ethernet | The other 6.5 feet of ethernet | |-|-| | Data #2 (blue) | Data #1 (orange) | | Ground #2 (blue stripe) | Ground #1 (orange stripe) | | Data #3 (green) | Data #2 (blue) | | Ground #3 (green stripe) | Ground #2 (blue stripe) | | Data #4 (brown) | Data #3 (green) | | Ground #4 (brown stripe) | Ground #3 (green stripe) | ![[branch_ethernet.png]] After that, solder these together: Left: - 6" CAT6 cable - 6" SAE power Right: - 6.5' SAE power - 8" 18awg power (for LED power injection) - 4-pin JST connector ![[branch_layout.png]] This image shows the 3 joints we need to make (V+, ground, and data) ![[branch_layout_2.png]] Afterwards it should look like this: ![[Pasted image 20231024234334.png]] ![[branch_complete_2.png]]
